Let me preface what I am about to say by inserting a brief yet pertinent aside. Blogs are inherently narcissistic, or rather therein lies an inherent potential for narcissistic tendencies to surface during blogging endeavors. By no means am I concluding that current bloggers do so for merely vain and self-absorbed motivations. However, and I most emphatically include myself in the following, we live in an interconnected society via cyberspace and social networking, where direct physical conversations and interaction have become minorities, and often obsolete. The point is, I realize that blogging can add to the continuum of social networking and online face time, but at the same time I realize the useful possibilities of online dialoging. Essentially this is what I intended to arrive at from the very beginning. This blog (and it would be futile, hypocritical, and elitist of me to pretend that this blog will be drastically different and unlike any other. There is no such thing as hipster blogging, and if you think that there is, well I’m sorry to disappoint, but blogs are blogs.) Granted, each individual layout possesses a certain uniqueness, but ultimately we are all here to converse, vent, discuss, debate, question, or write, well at least I am. Call it a catharsis, if you will, or a digital therapeutic release—an escapist’s oasis from monotony and frustration—a voyeuristic attempt to discover more about others and myself through online discourse. These will be the jumbled, convoluted thoughts, questions, and conclusions of a fellow sojourner attempting to navigate through this ever-changing life. Be forewarned however, that I inadvertently resort to a stream of consciousness method that perpetuates my ADD tendencies, ones that unfortunately, I cannot evade…Well here’s to the ride, and as one wise man one said, “peace be the journey…”
